Equipping Christians to know and teach the Bible.
Delegates are trained in biblical skills and doctrine, challenged to grow in Christ-likeness, and helped to develop skills for ministry which they can take back to their own churches. The skills taught are useful for all Christians and the conference is a strong supplement to a church’s existing training program.
In addition to the training received, the Conference has also been a place where Christians can meet other Christians from different places, ages, and walks of life and be mutually encouraged by God’s word and in prayer.
About the Strands
The heart of the conference is the Strand group. This is where delegates are assigned to a small group to study the Bible in-depth, facilitated by an experienced trainer. The Strands have been designed so that each year delegates are able to build on the material they have learnt from previous years. (i.e. enrollment in a strand requires completion of prior strands):
- Strand 1 Reading the Bible* – fundamentals of reading and teaching the Bible
- Strand 2 Biblical Theology* – understanding context in the progression through Old and New Testament
- Strand 3 Systematic Theology – formulating coherent accounts of aspects of Christianity from the Bible
- Strand 4 Ethics – defining concepts of right and wrong behaviour from a Christian perspective
- Strand P Preaching – depending on the speaker, some years a preaching strand is also offered
*Other languages may be made available subject to registration numbers.
